The Children's Hospital Trust is an independent charity and the Fundraising Arm of Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital, the stand alone, specialist hospital dedicated entirely to children in Southern Africa. Since its inception in 1994 we have been a dedicated children's charity focused on helping sick children in need and are governed by a dedicated and passionate Board of Trustees.

The Hospital offers the only dedicated paediatric trauma centre in South Africa as well as the only Poisons Information Centre and performs approximately 750 operations per month in 4 surgical theatres. Managing around 250 000 children each year, this children's hospital is the 'one-stop shop' for excellence in child health and treatment on the African continent, offering the best care in the most cost-effective way for sick children.

It is a national asset, a continental resource and an inspiration - a truly special African institution.

The Children's Hospital Trust

Managed by the Provincial Government of the Western Cape (PGWC) at a cost of R342 million for the 2008/2009 Financial Year, the Hospital is the stand alone, specialist children's hospital dedicated entirely to children in Southern Africa. There is however much that is yet to be done.

Ongoing support is still needed to raise critical complementary funding to ensure that the Hospital remains the centre of paediatric excellence for which it is renowned, giving hope to sick children and their families. It is for this reason that the Children's Hospital Trust was founded in 1994. As the fundraising arm of the Hospital, the Trust is committed to supporting the specialist children's hospital by raising significant funding to address many pressing needs.

100% of all funds raised by this children's charity go towards the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital.
