PPS and Coronation generously donate R100 000

According to Mike Jackson, Chief Executive Officer at PPS, the donation is the perfect example of a gift that keeps on giving as the cheque was a gift to PPS from Coronation Fund Managers in honour of PPS’ 70th anniversary. “PPS was so thrilled that we could give back to the healthcare community during this momentous year for the company.”

Louise Driver, CEO of the Children's Hospital Trust, says that the donation was a very welcome surprise. “The Red Cross Children’s Hospital is the only standalone specialist hospital dedicated entirely to children in southern Africa and most patients require highly complex, and therefore costly, treatments to recover.”

“This donation will help to transform the lives of many children and all of the money donated will go directly to the specified projects and programmes at the hospital as well as projects beyond the hospital’s doors,” says Driver.

Kirshni Totaram, Head of Institutional Business at Coronation Fund Managers, says that the cheque is a symbol of Coronation’s gratitude for the solid, prosperous and longstanding relationship that the company has formed with PPS over the past few years. “Coronation knows how much PPS values giving back to the medical profession through its various donations, so we thought it was highly appropriate to give PPS this donation the Children’s Hospital Trust, to benefit the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital, a hospital that also trains future graduate professionals in paediatric healthcare.”

“We are very thankful for this incredibly thoughtful gift from Coronation and hope that the donation will help assist the hospital in treating some of the 250,000 patients it sees every year and further bolster South African paediatric healthcare as a whole,” concludes Jackson.
