Nic Marais Climbs Kilimanjaro

Cape Town radio breakfast show host, Nic Marais, recently set off on an exciting expedition to Tanzania to climb the highest peak in Africa, the infamous Mount Kilimanjaro. He reached the summit successfully with his team and managed to plant a special flag from the Children's Hospital Trust at the very top of the mountain

In the prelude to his departure from Kfm, a Cape Town radio station, Nic decided to take one last step to show how much he cares for the Cape Town community. He used his trip to help raise much needed awareness and funding for the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital which was facilitated through his blog www.nicmarais.co.za.

Nic paid a visit to some of the patients at the Hospital to show them photos of his journey and tell them more about his exciting adventure. The Children’s Hospital Trust would like to take this opportunity to thank Nic for his interest in our cause and for his ongoing support in helping the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital. Nic, we wish you every success as you face an exciting new season in the USA.

“Every time I visit the Red Cross Children’s Hospital, I’m cured of the pressing need to continually improve my own life, reminded by the law of diminishing returns that the money we’ve got tucked away could be saving lives.” – Nic Marais
