Protecting the legacy of Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital
The Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital is the only dedicated specialist paediatric hospital in southern Africa. The Hospital is dedicated to providing excellent paediatric medical care and acts as a vital training institution for medical staff from South Africa and the rest of the world.
The Children's Hospital Trust
Established in 1994, the Children’s Hospital Trust fundraises for the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital and paediatric healthcare in the Western Cape, South Africa. The Children's Hospital Trust funds identified priority capital, equipment, research and training projects.
100% of all money donated goes directly to the specified projects and programmes at the Hospital as well as projects beyond the Hospital’s doors.
The corporate governance of the Trust ensures that our organisation is run with discipline, transparency, integrity and responsibility. As a non-profit charity organisation the Children's Hospital Trust relies on the generosity of our donors to help us realise our aims and objectives. We proudly guarantee that 100% of all money donated to the Trust benefits the Hospital directly.
In line with this the Trust has designed regular reporting channels to donors to ensure that the development of timeous feedback reports on building and social investment initiatives remains an important component of the Trust's donor stewardship process.
Corporate Donor Recognition
We have found that partnerships are most successful if custom-designed to meet the circumstances of each partner and their employees, and based on shared values and goals. Corporate Social Investment donations may attract the advantage of naming rights to various initiatives and programmes within the Trust and the Hospital and may also raise national and regional publicity.
All corporate donations are acknowledged in the Trust's Annual Report and are tax deductible in South Africa, under Section 18A of the Income Tax Act. We issue each and every person donating more than R100 with an annual tax receipt. (South Africans can submit the receipt when completing their tax return forms).
