Corporate Giving

Corporate social investment in South Africa has started gaining more and more momentum over the last few years. Companies are realising the need to support charity organisations like the Children's Hospital Trust and their donations are enabling so many amazing developments. Take a moment to read about why we think you should consider the Children's Hospital Trust as a beneficiary of your corporate social investment strategy.

The Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital

As the only dedicated specialist paediatric hospital in sub-Saharan Africa the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital is a beacon of hope for many of Africa's children. The Hospital is dedicated to providing excellent paediatric medical care and acts as a training institution for medical staff from around the country and the world. While the Hospital is managed by the Provincial Government of the Western Cape (PGWC) at an estimated cost of R300 million per annum additional funding is necessary to ensure it remains a centre for paediatric excellence.

The Children's Hospital Trust

As an independent charity organisation and the fundraising arm of this children's hospital, the Children's Hospital Trust is dedicated to ensuring that the Hospital does indeed remain a centre for paediatric excellence.
After having identified four main ways in which we can support the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital we have focused our efforts on fundraising for selected needs and long-term projects.
The key objectives of the Trust:

  1. Maintaining and enhancing the physical infrastructure of the Hospital.
  2. Equipping the Hospital to a level conducive with the best training and patient care support.
  3. Supporting paediatric specialist training.
  4. Supporting facilities the Hospital itself supports and helps.

The Trust, in serving as a catalyst to develop new and sustainable initiatives, adds a further dimension that the Trust brings to helping children in need.

The corporate governance of the Trust ensures that our organisation is run with discipline, transparency, integrity and responsibility. As a non-profit charity organisation the Children's Hospital Trust relies on the generosity of our donors to help us realise our aims and objectives. We proudly guarantee that 100% of all money donated to the Trust benefits the Hospital directly.
In line with this the Trust has designed regular reporting channels to donors to ensure that the development of timeous feedback reports on building and social investment initiatives remains an important component of the Trust's donor stewardship process.

Corporate Donor Recognition

We have found that partnerships are most successful if custom-designed to meet the circumstances of each partner and their employees, and based on shared values and goals. Corporate Social Investment donations may attract the advantage of naming rights to various initiatives and programmes within the Trust and the Hospital and may also raise national and regional publicity.

All corporate donations are acknowledged in the Trust's Annual Report and are tax deductible in South Africa, under Section 18A of the Income Tax Act.  We issue each and every person donating more than R100 with an annual tax receipt.  (South Africans can submit the receipt when completing their tax return forms).

If you are interested in becoming a corporate supporter with the Children's Hospital Trust or require more information, please don't hesitate to contact us today.
