The Andrew Mentis Golf Day at Hermanus Golf Estate on 29 October was organised by the Boland Nomads golfers in aid of the Children’s Hospital Trust. This Golf Day is an annual event and has previously benefited other charitable organisations.
The Nomad Clubs in South Africa donate over R1 000 000 to 12 charities every year through the Andrew Mentis Fund. The Boland Nomads have annually raised funds for various charitable organisations and the Children’s Hospital Trust was chosen as this year's beneficiary.
The 2009 Andrew Mentis Golf Day was held at the Hermanus Golf Estate on 29 October and funds were raised through an auction and raffles. Proceeds will be used to purchase a Diathermy machine for the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital, which has been identified as a priority for the new Operating Theatre Complex.
