Children's Hospital Trust registers with the American Fund for Charities

Saturday Surgeries
The Children’s Hospital Trust and the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital have partnered with Mediclinic Southern Africa to fund the first ever ‘Saturday Surgeries’ initiative at the Hospital to alleviate extensive waiting lists for life-changing surgical procedures. Read more
First Ever ‘Child-friendly Ambulances’ For Province
On Tuesday, October 18, 2011, the Children’s Hospital Trust will hand over two fully equipped paediatric ambulances to the Western Cape Government Health. The ambulances will serve paediatric emergency needs in the Cape Town Metropole region 24/7. Read more
A child's health is in your hands
Wednesday, 12 October 2011 – 15 October is Global Handwashing Day. As part of Dettol's commitment to the health of South African children,they will donate R1 from every Dettol Liquid hand wash sold between 15 September and 31 October 2011 to the Children’s Hospital Trust. Read more
Upgrading of B Medical Wards
As building commences on the first phase of the Medical Wards the Children’s Hospital Trust will start fundraising to build and equip the second phase. An additional R13million is needed for the Trust to fulfill their commitment to refurbish the two medical wards on the Hospital’s B Floor. Read more
John Dory's Fishing for Funds
John Dory’s restaurants in association with Jungle Beat/ Sunrise Productions and The Sharks will be giving away Sharkie branded mugs (in KZN only) and Jungle Beat branded mugs (in all regions except KZN) with all children’s meals in restaurants across the country from October 2011 while stocks last. New Burns Unit Upgrade Complete!
Paediatric burns treatment has been given a boost thanks to a R16 million ward upgrade at Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital. The ward is the only specialised paediatric burns unit in Africa. The modernised unit was officially opened on September 15. Read more
Art Auction Exceeds Target to Raise over R4 million!
On Saturday 03 September, the 2011 Art Auction exceeded its target of R2.3 million to raise over R4.2 million from the auction of artworks by acclaimed South African artists. Read more
Prof Alastair Millar awarded prestigious paediatric surgery ward
Professor Alastair Millar has won international medicine's top paediatric surgery award - the Denis Browne Medal by the British Association for Paediatric Surgeons, which monitors paediatric surgery worldwide. Read more

Blood Brothers' Testimonial Farewell dinner
The Rugby World Cup Farewell dinner was held at Emperor’s Palace in Johannesburg on 2 August. Guests joined Victor and Bakkies and a host of current and former Springboks to celebrate the end of a demanding Super Rugby campaign and look ahead to the challenge of defending their Rugby World Cup title. William Kentridge & Maguerite Stephens Reveal Latest Masterpiece
On Tuesday, 02 August 2011, South African artist, William Kentridge, will cut his tapestry entitled, Diva, from its 4.5metre loom at the Stephens Tapestry Studio in Diepsloot, west of Midrand. Trust announces New Expansion Strategy to Fundraise for Paediatric Healthcare Services in the Western Cape
The Trust has announced our new expansion strategy to fundraise for projects which will impact on paediatric healthcare in the broader Western Cape in addition to the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital.
