Read Brylene Williams 's story. If you saved R2 a day for a month you will have just enough money to buy yourself half a manicure or two movie tickets. R2 doesn't sound like much but if you donated this amount regularly you could help save lives at the Red Cross War Memorial Children's Hospital. Pledge your support now.
Currently around 750 surgical operations are performed on children at the Hospital every month. These procedures are conducted in the Hospital's original four surgical theatres, built more than 50 years ago, and include life saving operations like kidney and liver transplants, cardiac surgery, neurosurgery and the treatment of burns and skin grafts.
To the children undergoing surgery it is essential that surgical teams have the best equipment available to ensure improved patient outcomes. It is for this reason that a new Operating Theatre Complex is currently under construction at the Hospital.
The Children's Hospital Trust, the fundraising arm of the Hospital are now calling for significant fundraising support in order to raise funds to purchase much needed state-of-the-art operating theatre equipment to fully furnish the new Operating Theatre Complex.
The total cost of equipping the new Operating Theatre Complex at the Hospital is around R55 million so every cent counts! 100% of funds received go directly towards supporting the Hospital.
