Abriella and Issataya Bredell are sisters from the Eastern Cape who believe in giving back, no matter how young you are. In January 2018, at the age of 11, Abriella was the youngest person to swim the Robben Island Channel, a gruelling 7,9km swim from the island to Blouberg beach in Cape Town.

On 20 March 2020, Issataya (11) will be joining her sister (13) to attempt to break another open water world swimming record. Abriella will swim the 11,9km route around Robben Island while Issataya will swim the 8,5km distance from Cape Point to False Bay. Besides attempting to break another record for being the youngest to swim these particular routes and distances, these determined sisters are raising funds for the upgrade and expansion of the Emergency Centre at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital.
