Assalamu alaikum! Greetings of peace.
Despite an immensely challenging year, with disheartening news and circumstances around the COVID-19 pandemic, nothing warms the heart more than news that the blessed month of Ramadan is nearly here!
Muslims around the world are preparing their homes and hearts with inward reflection and renewed intentions to increase their spirituality and connection with God. It is also a time when we look for ways to do good and serve those most in need.
This past year has taught us that life is fragile and that we need to work together to make a difference in the lives of the vulnerable – especially our children.
At the Children’s Hospital Trust (CHT), we are no strangers to the naturally overflowing joy and absolute resilience of children. Every year, the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital treats over 250 000 seriously ill and injured children from all over the country, many of these children coming from often devastatingly impoverished circumstances. Here, these children receive dedicated care and committed rehabilitation with state-of-the-art facilities and specialist, world-renowned pioneers of paediatric healthcare.
Last year, the Children’s Hospital Trust raised R3.5 million through the ITV Pledge-a-Thon and the generous donors gave in the spirit of love and compassion, for the thousands of little angels who are looked after by the hospital. These funds were used towards the upgrade and expansion of the Emergency Centre. Read more here about the project or click to watch the video message from our CEO, Chantel Cooper.
This Ramadan, we need your support to raise funds for essential medical equipment needed to save the lives of many more young patients in the newly expanded Emergency Centre at Red Cross Children’s Hospital.
Gift your Sadaqah Jariyah and elevate the rewards of this ongoing charity in this lifetime and beyond. The following famous Hadith gives the good news that even after death, Sadaqah Jariyah continues to provide benefits:
On the authority of Abu Hurairah (RA) that the Messenger of Allah (PBUH) said, ‘When a person dies, his deeds come to an end except for three: Sadaqah Jariyah (a continuous charity), or knowledge from which benefit is gained, or a righteous child who prays for him.’ (Muslim)
Elevate your Ramadan this year by supporting The Children’s Hospital Trust. 100% of your generous contribution will be used to benefit more than 30,000 children who enter the doors of the busy Emergency Centre at the hospital each year.
With your support, the children at the Red Cross Hospital will have many angels walking with them and carrying them during their darkest hours.
Act now. Our children need your help more than ever.
The Prophet (SAW) said: “Give charity without delay, for it stands in the way of calamity.” (Tirmidhi)
The Children’s Hospital Trust, Hospital staff, patients, and parents, wish you and your loved ones a blessed Ramadan. May the spirit of the holy month elevate your spirituality and may your prayers, fast and acts of kindness be accepted, Insha-Allah, Ameen.
