On this special Women’s Day, we extend warm greetings to all the phenomenal women, from the Children’s Hospital Trust!
Today, we come together to celebrate the remarkable women who enrich the lives they touch, spreading boundless love, care, and compassion throughout their communities.
Beyond motherhood, we recognize that the power of nurturing knows no bounds. This month, we honour not only the incredible mothers who lovingly raise their children but also the devoted women who selflessly serve as nurturers in diverse capacities: those who embrace foster children, feed hungry young souls, educate eager minds, care for the sick, protect the vulnerable, and so many more.
In every corner of South Africa, women stand as pillars of strength, cultivating nurturing environments for their families, friends, and communities. Their love knows no limits, and their kindness and empathy inspire us to become better versions of ourselves.
One such beautiful soul is Aunty Nazline, who has been an integral part of the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital family since 1994. As a household aid, Nazline’s role transcends boundaries. She is there for the most significant moments when families and children are in need. Her caring ear never tires of listening, her hands warmly hold little hands seeking reassurance, and her heart overflows with love and compassion that defies comprehension.
Nazline’s story embodies the spirit of Women’s Day, and it reminds us of the impact one nurturing soul can have on countless lives.
As we commemorate this day, let us take a moment to join hands with the women around us, symbolising the unity and strength of South African femininity. In doing so, we honour the indispensable role women play in shaping the world around us.
May this Women’s Day be filled with a sense of unity and appreciation. Let the nurturing spirit of South African women continue to illuminate the lives of all those they touch.
With heartfelt gratitude,
The Children’s Hospital Trust Team
