Child Protection Project

One in three children in South Africa is estimated to experience violence or maltreatment before turning 18, often with lifelong consequences. Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital is a key referral centre for children affected by abuse, neglect and violence. A coordinated, hospital-wide approach is urgently needed to identify cases early and provide children with specialised care and protection.
