It is also not hard to imagine a child who sought solace in a loyal teddy bear named Darla. A child found herself, as young as she was, amidst a broken home and stripped of dignity. In a home where a young girl should find safety, her outcry was met with resistance. Her mother did not believe that she had been abused. A young girl like her should not have to know such abuse. But amidst the shadows of despair, a beacon of hope emerged—the caring embrace of a Stepmom who refused to turn a blind eye.
