Now more than ever, the little ones at the Red Cross War Memorial Children’s Hospital need your help. The Children’s Hospital Trust initiated the Family Care Project to support vulnerable little patients and their families with temporary emergency relief resources such as essential care, food packages and transportation costs for regular check-ups. Most patients entering the doors of the Children’s Hospital come from communities where hardships such as violence, abuse, and poverty are prominent. When a little one’s life and routine are disrupted due to trauma or illness, their life changes instantly.

Lethokuhle

The reality for many little ones is that without the support, they would be unable to complete or commit to their doctors’ visits due to high travel costs or have access to basic nutrition and care necessities on their healing journey.

Little Lethokuhle’s mom is unemployed and often struggles with transportation costs to get her daughter to the hospital for physiotherapy which requires regular follow-up visits which are crucial on the little girl’s road to recovery. Despite their difficult circumstances, Lethokuhle continues to embody her name which means ‘to bring light’. Her remarkable healing journey is made possible because of the dedicated staff working tirelessly to provide quality care and the generous support of our loyal donors.
